Respectfully, you question my claim to have originally backed first gen pi was equally arrogant, offensive and confrontational. That was uncalled for so no need to get sensitive when I keep the same energy.

And didn’t need to know about your 11000 post to know your devout fanboy. I don’t understand what your deal is are you jealous I may have supported the project before you ?

Err. What? I am not a fanboy. I've no idea where you're getting that from. Pointing out obvious misconception/misunderstandings/mistakes in you posts and having more awareness of the history and constraints than you appear to have does not make me a fanboy.

Nor does being able to cogently argue a point.

Yes, I use and advocate Pi but only when a Pi is the right tool for the job. For many things it isn't and I wouldn't. A fanboy would.

As for "are you jealous I may have supported the project before you?" No, not at all. I just find it unlikely you have been using Pi since the launch of the 1B given the timings of your forum signup and apparent lack of knowledge. I also don't see which of us first used Pi as at all relevant.

I will admit that I took your staement to mean that you, like me, had purchased a 1B at launch and had been using various models since. I guess you could have had a bad experience with a 1B, stopped using it, then decided to try again with the Pi 5.
Respectfully I hope in your other 10000 msg in this forum your not mean spirited and helpful.

Normally I would refrains from doing this but...
  1. "your" should be "you're"
  2. Many English speakers would parse "not mean spirited and helpful" as "not mean spirited and [not] helpful". Did you mean "not mean spirited and are helpful"'?. I'll leave others to say which of the two groups most of my posts fit into.
I'd argue that "mean spirited" is stretching things a bit. A couple of lines in my first post in this thread could be interpreted that way but that's all.
Best of luck.

Likewise but I doubt you'll achieve anything other than offending the Pi engineers and moderators.
As for the pi engineer thank you for your offer of support but I’m not interested in spending anymore time on this matter and providing free bug report. I was expressing my unboxing experience before the local fanboys got their feelings in a bunch.

Poorly. And stop calling everyone who has challenged you a fanboy - you're making assumptions about us on very limited information. Perhaps we should we start calling you a hater it would only be us doing the same to you.

But we'd both be calling each other names as if we were back in the playground and that would likely lead to shoving then fighting.

I do wonder why, as you have no interest in resolving your issues, you're still posting in this thread.
I was mere stating that if these monitor issues are having decent amount issues with users, it would be wise for pi imager to give warning notes. Instead of having customers have to go through the forum. Especially as pi is getting more commercial and charging high prices.

That might be what you intended to say but it isn't what you actually said.

Can you provide a link that would backup your claim of high prices please. Pi 5 prices (exlcuding taxes and shipping) are comparable to similar spec'd 4B prices.

Some links to back that up though these include UK taxes in the quoted price:
https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/rasp ... 4580171859
https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/rasp ... 6486416467

Yes, they're more than the 1B's 35USD price point but times change, costs increase, and as yet there is no 1GB Pi5.
