Whilst i hadn't heard it referred to as D14 before, it's a 14mm unthreaded cylinder at the end.
The fact that it comes with the IR cut holder means that it will just replace any existing mount on a sensor IF the screw spacing happens to match.

I have a couple of similar lenses bought via Amazon. Yes they're stepper motors, so you need some form of driver. I have a personal project at the moment that is trying to get a similar lens working with IMX708 (PDAF means decent autofocus).
Arducam do have a PTZF IMX477 module that uses that style of lens and has a driver board. The easier approach would be to buy their complete module. https://www.uctronics.com/arducam-12mp- ... 712mp.html
I bought one last week

But I have a spare UC517 which is the same camera board with IMX477

And no lens

I should get something for it

Are you using a Pi3 camera module for your project?

Edit: Just realised you can swap the mount on the UC517 AND I bet the Arducam that's what they've done I will see when I get it

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005442061459.html

This comes with IR cut and mount and I bet is the same lens as Arducam just rebranded

BUT I need to find the right driver board for the 2 steppers

Looking at the Arducam it's just steppers on the zoom and focus too NOT servos

No home and positional accuracy is important to me

But the Arducam suffers exactly the same problem because it really probably is the same lens OEM

If would not have bought the Arducam PTZ IF I found the alixpress listing last week and honestly if I thought about adapting the IMX708 I would have tried that first but you might be onto something there
