According to the dog developer the danger of humans having ideas was solved by the invention of the television but later undone by the personal computer. This unfortunate turn of events has been partially remedied by the mouse which allows people to use a computer like a shovel.AI is "Artificial" Intelligence, i.e. real (human) intelligence, a lot of human work, human pioneering ideas, shrewd data collection and a lot of number crunching.
My understanding is AI like any computer program packages ideas and action together in a way that can be copied at almost no cost. The result is a way to drive cars without incurring the cost of training drivers, fly planes without training pilots and fight wars without training soldiers. The latter seems to be the cause of all the regulations.
Whether it's called AI or just software, the point is that it can be endlessly copied and does stuff.
