That leaves me with a couple of (stupid?) questions. FIRST, why will the next releases only offer 1.8x when 1.9 is available? Is there some sort of test or beta program that the OS is working with? If that's the case then why chose the NOT latest release? Is it that there is a list of known conflicts with the latest Debian? SECOND, if building this project were as simple as it is then why can't I find any of this info anywhere on the Web? Is there some sort of etiquette that I don't know about to not build some projects? Should this post be taken down so that others don't do what I'm doing?

- That tells me that nobody will accept a package even if someone much more skilled than I were to produce it
- Also, I had better continue to get the libs from my own compiles and OS resources unless I plan on working with the packaged version
- I would be better off building a script to produce my desired version than to depend on my limited skill and memory (my brain not the computer)
