The active cooler air is going round in circles, you need more than a few small holes to convince the hot air not to be sucked back into the fan. Some Directors/deflectors made out of cardboard could make a big difference basically trying to force the intake of the fan to only suck in air from the lid - you need more holes anyway.
Thanks! I'll try bigger holes. I will make the hole for the fan bigger than the others
The air is being blown through the heatsink, why would it go through your holes ?

Maybe if they were in the end of the case?
The lid had two positions that got hot, so I drilled those holes there. The hot air rises and there is no fan to blow this air out through the thin openings on the sides (Btw. I couldn't feel any air at the end of the heatsink when the fan was spinning).

As already written, I don't know much about it, so I would like to share my experience so that others don't make the same mistakes 😬
