After all this questions and answers I've come to the conclusion that I could do away with all buck and battery converters and stop worrying about how to connect the power to the Pi and just but a 2000 watt inverter that runs off my vecials 12v battery supply. 2000 watts gives roughly 8.5 amps and the Pi only needs 5 amps at boot up and then consumes about 0.5 amp after that. I'm sure some one will jump in here a burst my bubble, but I thought that it was a better option than doinng it the other way.

Let me know whatyou think.
Well, forget about your 'Raspberry Pi 5 connector with 2 leads' then and just take an old heavy power hungry laptop with WiFi and plug its charger into your 2kW invertor for some real wardriving.
