Well, forget about your 'Raspberry Pi 5 connector with 2 leads' then and just take an old heavy power hungry laptop with WiFi and plug its charger into your 2kW invertor for some real wardriving. After all this questions and answers I've come to the conclusion that I could do away with all buck and battery converters and stop worrying about how to connect the power to the Pi and just but a 2000 watt inverter that runs off my vecials 12v battery supply. 2000 watts gives roughly 8.5 amps and the Pi only needs 5 amps at boot up and then consumes about 0.5 amp after that. I'm sure some one will jump in here a burst my bubble, but I thought that it was a better option than doinng it the other way.
Let me know whatyou think.
