HATs and other add-ons • Re: Could PyBricks be up and running on BuildHAT..

For me personally, it's still not detailed enough to drive lego components. I could even add one or two missing things to it, such as the QSPI_CSn pin, or the power path from 3v3 to the ID EEPROM.
True, I have no idea about the Lego interface. I'm not familiar with whatever it's designed to interface to but it looks like there's simply a motor driver chip per port and a big cap ? When I last did anything Lego it was all I2C and some not-quite RJ11 connectors.

And, yes, I completely forgot the ID Eeprom.

On the detail I usually ignore that if it's not relevant to what one wants to do. So, for me, how the Flash connects to the RP2040 is entirely immaterial providing it works as expected. Ditto the ID Eeprom.

I'm not sure what that ID Eeprom provides for. I thought it auto configured the Pi so it becomes plug-and-play but there still seems to be a lot of 'raspi-config' work to do to make the Build HAT work. I've never used a bona fide HAT or touched Device Trees so can't say.
